It was started by a Whatsapp massage i got in a morning.
“Moses ,tomorrow free?can i have a photoshoot?”
I was shock by it and with no further thinking : “YES!!”
She asked me about how much do i charge for the photo shooting.
The chance of getting a “job” or “opportunity” like this was what i dreamed of, who cares about the payment or anything that in returns, what i need is “chance” more than anything else. So with no charging on it, i agreed this photo shooting with her in the next morning in Kepong “layang-layang” park.

Suddenly , an idea popped out in my mind: “she’s a saxophonist, she must have some kind of “wild’’ photos right?”. I came along with some image in google about musician shoot, especially for saxophone player, their photo was surrounded by coloured light bulb, some “bokeh”(photographing term), awesome black and white in a performing hall smoke etc…
So i was thinking, “how about we can have a night shoot in Pavillion?” ,since she is currently free for sometime as she is waiting for her new intake of music school to start in sept 2015(i guess so).
She agreed after i asked her for having that night shooting(not what you think of “agreed”, but YEAHHHH).
Well, i started to pack for the equipment for shooting, suddenly a mind popping thought -
“NIGHT = LESS LIGHT = YOU NEED A FLASH”
CRAPPPP!! I was bad in using flash because of i take landscape photograph a lot , the flash i bought is just a backup for…. i don't know why i use a flash on landscape, a cheap speed light (flash) cost around rm200, YONGNUO. Well..i don’t have enough money for another NIKON brand speed light, i bought a rechargeable AA batteries for it, cost me rm45++.
I had tested it once a few time when i first got this flash, kind of knowing how was the function and some settings, but i still can’t fully master the use of flash(In fact i had no experienced on it for photo shooting). So i went to internet and search for the way of using it and what i had to buy for the flash. “Soft box, wireless flash trigger” was the two things that i need in conclusion (there are plenty more things to buy for lighting equipment but i had to save up for MACbook pro)
I rushed to a camera accessory shop in Mutiara Complex near KL Performing Art Centre(thanks to a friend who introduce me this awesome shops) , bought a softbox and a flash trigger cost over hundreds Bucks (Never mind…i can buy the macbook later…no rush… T.T)
But i had to say : “I LOVE BOTH OF THESE ITEMS!” . How should i say, ermmm…. it help filled some light during night shooting , because of the light were mostly behind of the object(person) of shooting, the face of the object was totally pitch-black cause you lost detail of the face.

with flash and put on softbox, fired with flash trigger that set on a tripod |
Once again, “ I LOVE BOTH OF THESE ITEMS!” , the outcome was sosososo different.
I tried another technique , where i putted my flash behind her and took a photo in-front of her, i took a few test and it all come like this
The first though , “i like the second photo, but why is it seem lack of something?” , but the photo will take back home and edit so i won’t be able to know which i like more, it might can safe some for the second picture i took.
A tiring night had over, learned a lot and had some nice picture captured , satisfy , Home, prepare for tomorrow morning shoot. Night
“ IS DONE” for tonight.
